Pumpkin Pandemonium!

This past weekend we all went out to the corn maze/pumpkin patch across from out house. First we went on a hay ride, which Melly wasn't too sure about and Ian slept through and then we went over to the corn maze...

Starting out on the corn maze...our fearless leader pointing the way. (here is a hint, we made all Right turns until she noticed other kids and then we followed them.)

Checkpoint 1 in the corn maze.

Picking the perfect one. Not too big, not too small...

Mommy's little pumpkin. Way too cute!

After a very exciting trip, Melly snuggles down with her brother for a little snooze.

Pictures of Ian

As previously promised...

Ian's weigh in. It was about this time he realized that he was no longer warm and comfy and started screaming...for about 45 minutes...

After a refreshing bath, the nurse was so amused by Ian's position under the heat lamp that she snapped this picture.

Tired but happy, Mr. C meets his son.

Following in his sisters wake, Ian dons the traditional 'going home from the hospital' onsie.

Brother and sister finally meet face to face, with Grandma D looking on.

A quick morning kiss before going off to school and work.

The OB this week

Just walked in the door from the OB. Very exciting news...
I am 2.5 cm dilated and that pretty much means I can start labor at any point... Also Ian is 8.1 lbs and so...the doctor is going to induce me next Saturday if he isn't out by then! (Yes, I know I said I didn't want to be induced...but you haven't seen the size of my ankles recently...

And so Mr. W it appears you are off the hook for emergency baby duty (since we are calling in grandma D) so you can just plan on meeting Ian with everyone else at Melody's birthday! However, if you want to come before then, you are welcome to. :)

CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekly review (or something like it)

I am having a great time at field placement. Not only am I learning lots of very valuable information about CPS, but I really like my field instructor. We got to do home visits and hospital visits this week. We also made a list of things for me to do while I am out on maternity leave and talked about all of the clients I will get when I come back. *sigh* I love this part of school. Still have no direction as to what I want to specialize in next year but I am getting a very good idea of what happens in the human services department...plus, got my own badge!

Melly is having issues this week. There have been so many people in and out of her life and so many changes in the past few weeks I think she is overwhelmed. She is getting better though...only waking up once a night or so, learning to sleep on her big girl bed by herself, and eating again. The poor girl. It's all so very much when you are almost 2 and the world keeps changing on you.

I went to the OB this week...and will be returning to see her every week from now on until Ian shows up. And the word is...he is a big boy. Pushing into the 8 lbs range and getting bigger all the time. My hemoglobin count is low (which is funny since I don't look it with rosy cheeks and all) and so I am going to see a hematologist next week along with the OB and possibly the dentist. *sheesh* No discussions yet on inducing or c-sections but I am having another ultrasound and then the OB said 'we'll talk'. Oh yes, my blood pressure shot through the roof this week...it has been low this whole pregnancy and now it is most defiantly not. All of these are signs to me that this little boy needs to make an appearance. I don't know if my body will keep this up for much longer.

Mr. C started working from the office this week! Yippee! So hopefully no more monthly travel. And he gets to make co-worker friends. Very nice.

Well, other than lots of homework, quizzes, and papers that about sums up life right now. Ms. Melly-bean will be home from daycare shortly and so I am off to make sure her diaper keeper is stocked.

Cheers!

Hopefully the next thing you hear from me will be about little Ian.

PS Ms. R-thank you for the shirt. IT is perfect. I have a picture of her in it and will post it as soon as Ian is born and my camera is no longer hiding in the hospital bag in the back of my car.

Lagging in posting

I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping this up to date recently. I had a rough week with Mr. C out of town and I am still catching up. I'll keep everyone posted when Ian decides to show up.

Cheers!
