Tu-tu cute

After the great success of our first dance lesson, Melly needed a dancing outfit.
So, we went to the fabric store yesterday and got a lot of tulle.

And with the help of the new kitten, we managed to make a tu-tu that was quite beautiful and just perfect for a little dancer.

Ribbon Dancing

Last night Melly had her first ever dance class. It was a ribbon dancing class and she loved it! Here are some pictures from that class for everyone to enjoy.

I am currently working on a tu-tu and slippers so she can be dressed appropriately next week.

Swimming lessons

Mr. Ian had his very first swimming lesson yesterday. He had the best time ever! He spent the whole time laughing, smiling, and splashing. The instructors were very impressed with him. Hopefully this eagerness will continue!

Teeth!!!

The little Ian monster has managed to pop out 2 teeth in 2 days!!! That's right, the first bottom middle right tooth came out on May 1st and the second bottom middle left arrived on the 3rd. As soon as I find my camera I will attempt a picture.

And pictures of the house. No I haven't forgotten...Just misplaced my camera in a box somewhere in the living room...

Cheers!

Carrots

After our last check up the doctor suggested that a healthy boy like Ian might be ready to start solid foods early. So we gave him some rice cereal and he pretty much hated it, we tried some oatmeal and it was also a no go. However when we finally gave him 'real' food (at 5 months) he got so excited! He reaches for the spoon and shoves it in his mouth. What a boy. So here he is trying carrots for the first time.

The world according to me

Yes, I know. I haven't posted in forever. But hear me out. Life is very complicated right now. I have a house. I have a house with painted bedrooms. We spent all Easter weekend painting and it looks great. I am hiring painters to do the rest of the house because...well, I'm over it. This last weekend we got new furniture. There will be a beautiful sofa, chaise lounge, and bedroom set for Melly being delivered at the end of April as well as a new head and foot board for us. We still have a lot of little projects to do like resurfacing the kitchen counters (they are very scratched laminate)and refinishing the cabinets (20 years was not kind to them). But all in all, once the painters have finished, the cleaners will come and we are moving in on the 24th! Very very exciting. Once the painters are done I will put together a tour and put it up here for everyone to see.

In other news my surgery is scheduled for the 27th. Fast approaching but soon to be over. I have 3 weeks left of school before the summer break and Melly and Ian are both doing well. Ian is sitting up all by himself and is growing very large and happy. He will sit and 'talk' to himself or bounce like a crazy boy in his bouncy horse. Melody is busy making friends at daycare. She has 2 other little girls she pals around with and shows how to get into trouble. Little smartie. Both of them will be hanging out with me this summer so they will get a good dose of mommy time. Chris is doing well and working a lot. But he has vacation coming up and we are planning something. Not sure what yet, but something.

I will post pictures the next time I can and I'll try to post more often.

Cheers!

Surgery and other inconvenient things

While I was pregnant with Ian my thyroid gland went out of control. It got really swollen to the point where you can physically see it and it impedes my ability to live comfortably. So I went back to the doctor after I had Ian in order to make sure it wasn't swollen because of pregnancy hormones. It wasn't. I was sent to an expert. She had me do an ultrasound which reveled a 4cm mass in my left thyroid. I was then sent to a biopsy. The results came back last week and I do not have cancer, which was a possibility. What I do have is a benign tumor that will not go away on it's own.

I talked to the doctor yesterday and because it is benign she would normally just let it be and keep an eye on it through ultrasounds for a while. But because of the large size (most masses are between 1-2 cm) she recommends having it taken out. So I am waiting for the surgery lady to call me back and get this scheduled. I was told that it was an overnight stay in the hospital and about a 2 week recovery which would involve pain killers.

I'll let you know more when I do. I hate hospitals. And I hate that I am going to surgery. But I understand that it needs to happen to help me have a better life.

I finally pulled Melly's old jumping horse out of storage for Ian. She was never really in love with it but Ian...Ian jumped and giggled, and talked and had the greatest time right up until he fell asleep...still in the jumper.

Little sweetie-pants.

The new house

Want to see the place we are buying? Well then click here .

We close on the 31st and as of right now we have had an inspection and the owners are fixing everything that matters and our loan has been approved. All we need is the 31st to get here and we will be moving!

Time gets away with me...

Sorry for taking so long. Somehow I never manage to get as much done in a day as I think I will. *Sigh* But here are the babies...

And here she is, Miss Melly in all her glory! (We were laughing at the big hair she is sporting.)

They are so wonderful together. Melly gives Ian kisses and Ian grins and 'talks' when he sees her. Perfect! (Notice how big he is compared to her?)

Little baby boy is getting stronger, smarter, and cuter everyday! He can roll over at will now and can almost sit up by himself!!!

A budding musician? Time will only tell... (I think the flute is bigger than she is.)

Updates

Ahem. Someone, I won't name any names, rolled over for the first time on Thursday. By all accounts he laughed himself silly after wards.

That is all.

Crib

Well, we did it. We took the big crib out of Melly's room and put it into our room. And now Mr. Ian can sleep in the big old crib. We we even went to Target and got boy colored bumpers and bedding. He is so small. And so cute. And so talkative. I am so blessed, my babies are wonderful!
