Surgery and other inconvenient things

While I was pregnant with Ian my thyroid gland went out of control. It got really swollen to the point where you can physically see it and it impedes my ability to live comfortably. So I went back to the doctor after I had Ian in order to make sure it wasn't swollen because of pregnancy hormones. It wasn't. I was sent to an expert. She had me do an ultrasound which reveled a 4cm mass in my left thyroid. I was then sent to a biopsy. The results came back last week and I do not have cancer, which was a possibility. What I do have is a benign tumor that will not go away on it's own.

I talked to the doctor yesterday and because it is benign she would normally just let it be and keep an eye on it through ultrasounds for a while. But because of the large size (most masses are between 1-2 cm) she recommends having it taken out. So I am waiting for the surgery lady to call me back and get this scheduled. I was told that it was an overnight stay in the hospital and about a 2 week recovery which would involve pain killers.

I'll let you know more when I do. I hate hospitals. And I hate that I am going to surgery. But I understand that it needs to happen to help me have a better life.

I finally pulled Melly's old jumping horse out of storage for Ian. She was never really in love with it but Ian...Ian jumped and giggled, and talked and had the greatest time right up until he fell asleep...still in the jumper.

Little sweetie-pants.

The new house

Want to see the place we are buying? Well then click here .

We close on the 31st and as of right now we have had an inspection and the owners are fixing everything that matters and our loan has been approved. All we need is the 31st to get here and we will be moving!

Time gets away with me...

Sorry for taking so long. Somehow I never manage to get as much done in a day as I think I will. *Sigh* But here are the babies...

And here she is, Miss Melly in all her glory! (We were laughing at the big hair she is sporting.)

They are so wonderful together. Melly gives Ian kisses and Ian grins and 'talks' when he sees her. Perfect! (Notice how big he is compared to her?)

Little baby boy is getting stronger, smarter, and cuter everyday! He can roll over at will now and can almost sit up by himself!!!

A budding musician? Time will only tell... (I think the flute is bigger than she is.)
